Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: September 14, 2026
Welcome to Project Outrun. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Project Outrun website, located at projectoutrun.org (the “Site”), as well as applications, programs, events, fundraising activities, communications, and related services offered by Project Outrun.
Throughout these Terms, “Project Outrun,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Project Outrun and the programs and services it operates.
By accessing the Site, submitting an application, registering for an event or program, making a donation, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you are submitting information on behalf of a child or another person, you also represent that you have the legal authority to do so.
1. About Project Outrun
Project Outrun is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by pediatric cancer and other serious medical circumstances through programs, events, community support, and memorable experiences.
Project Outrun’s programs may include sneaker support for children undergoing treatment, sibling sneaker support, Finish Line Festivals, Triumph Together experiences, fundraising initiatives, community events, and other charitable programs developed or supported by Project Outrun.
Programs, services, eligibility requirements, and availability may change over time based on funding, organizational resources, partnerships, community needs, and other circumstances.
2. Applications and Eligibility
Parents, legal guardians, caregivers with appropriate authority, healthcare professionals with appropriate authorization, or other authorized individuals may submit applications for eligible Project Outrun programs.
If an applicant is under 18 years of age, an application must be submitted or approved by the child’s parent or legal guardian before participation.
By submitting an application, you represent that:
- the information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you have authority to provide the information included in the application;
- if you are applying on behalf of a minor, you are the minor’s parent or legal guardian or otherwise have appropriate authorization;
- you have permission to provide any health-related or other personal information included with the application; and
- you will notify us if information relevant to the application materially changes.
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, eligibility, assistance, merchandise, participation in an event, or any other benefit.
Applications may be accepted, declined, placed on hold, or prioritized based on factors including eligibility, available funding, geographic location, medical circumstances, scheduling, inventory, organizational resources, partner requirements, and the nature of the applicable program.
We may request additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate or coordinate an application.
Please do not submit medical records or other sensitive information beyond what is reasonably necessary unless specifically requested by an authorized member of the Project Outrun team.
3. Programs, Events, and Experiences
Project Outrun programs and events may depend on the participation and availability of volunteers, healthcare organizations, sponsors, donors, vendors, athletes, teams, venues, community organizations, and other third parties.
Because many circumstances are outside our control, we cannot guarantee:
- participation in any particular program or event;
- receipt of any particular product, shoe, merchandise, ticket, or other benefit;
- availability of a particular size, style, brand, item, or experience;
- participation by any particular athlete, team, organization, sponsor, or individual;
- a particular date, time, location, or event;
- transportation, lodging, meals, parking, or other expenses unless expressly communicated otherwise; or
- that an approved or scheduled program, event, delivery, or experience will occur as originally planned.
Programs and events may be modified, postponed, relocated, substituted, or canceled because of scheduling changes, illness, weather, safety concerns, inventory limitations, transportation issues, partner availability, changes in a participant’s circumstances, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes to affected participants and families.
4. Medical and Safety Considerations
Project Outrun is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical advice.
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for determining whether participation in a Project Outrun program, event, or experience is medically appropriate for a child and should consult the child’s healthcare team when appropriate.
Public events, travel, crowds, physical activities, sporting events, and interactions with other people may involve inherent risks. Participants and their parents or guardians are responsible for considering those risks in light of the participant’s health and treatment circumstances.
Please notify us of accessibility, mobility, medical, or other accommodation needs relevant to participation so that we can make reasonable efforts to coordinate appropriate accommodations. We cannot guarantee that every requested accommodation will be available.
In an emergency, participants should contact appropriate emergency or medical services rather than relying on Project Outrun.
5. Third-Party Organizations and Partners
Project Outrun works with hospitals, healthcare organizations, professional and collegiate sports organizations, athletes, venues, sponsors, donors, transportation providers, vendors, volunteers, and other third parties.
Participation in certain programs or events may be subject to additional rules or agreements established by those organizations, including venue policies, ticket terms, security requirements, credential requirements, health and safety policies, and liability or participation releases.
Participants agree to comply with reasonable rules imposed by applicable venues, healthcare organizations, event organizers, teams, sponsors, or other participating organizations.
Failure to comply with applicable requirements may result in cancellation or termination of participation.
6. Participant Conduct
Participants, parents, guardians, family members, guests, volunteers, and other individuals involved with Project Outrun are expected to behave respectfully toward children and families, staff members, volunteers, healthcare professionals, sponsors, donors, athletes, venue personnel, community partners, and members of the public.
Project Outrun reserves the right to deny or terminate participation when we reasonably believe conduct is unsafe, threatening, unlawful, abusive, disruptive, fraudulent, or materially inconsistent with our charitable mission.
Tickets, credentials, merchandise, sneakers, gifts, or other benefits provided through Project Outrun programs may not be sold, auctioned, transferred for profit, or otherwise commercially exploited without our prior written permission.
7. Photography, Video, and Media
Project Outrun may document programs, events, fundraising activities, and experiences through photographs, video, interviews, testimonials, or similar media.
When appropriate, particularly when a minor is involved, Project Outrun may request a separate photo, video, publicity, or media release from the participant’s parent or legal guardian.
Submitting an application by itself does not constitute permission for Project Outrun to publicly disclose a child’s medical information or use the child’s name, image, or likeness for promotional purposes unless the applicable application or a separate release expressly states otherwise.
Families should review any media release presented to them before providing consent.
8. Personal Information
When you use the Site, submit an application, register for an event, make a donation, volunteer, or otherwise interact with Project Outrun, we may receive information such as names, ages, contact information, location, health or treatment information voluntarily submitted as part of an application, clothing or shoe sizes, family information, event information, social media information, and other information reasonably necessary to administer our programs.
We may use this information for purposes including:
- reviewing applications;

- determining potential eligibility;
- coordinating programs, events, merchandise, and experiences;

14. Disclaimer of Warranties
Project Outrun works in good faith to provide meaningful charitable programs and maintain accurate information on the Site. However, nonprofit programs frequently depend on funding, donations, volunteers, inventory, partnerships, scheduling, and circumstances outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its services are provided on an “as available” basis without warranties regarding uninterrupted availability, the availability of any particular program or benefit, or participation by any particular organization, sponsor, athlete, team, vendor, or other third party.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

Any separate event-specific liability waiver, participation agreement, media release, or other agreement will be governed by its own terms.
16. Changes to Programs and Services
Project Outrun may change, suspend, or discontinue portions of its programs, services, events, fundraising activities, or the Site at any time.
Program requirements, eligibility criteria, application procedures, available benefits, events, and other program details may change as our resources, partnerships, charitable priorities, and community needs evolve.
17. Changes to These Terms
Project Outrun may update these Terms periodically.
When material changes are made, we will post the revised Terms on the Site and update the Effective Date shown above. Your continued use of the Site after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
